What is the cancellation policy for The Ocean Beach Cottages?
Because we only have three cottages, full payment is required to book and there is a strict NO REFUND policy. Please be sure that your dates and arrangements are made before booking with us. We are a small family run business that likes to keep it simple and straight forward so you can better enjoy your stay!
What are the check out and check in times?
Check out- 11AM Check in- 2PM
Can a cottage be reserved with a downpayment/deposit?
Because we only have three cottages, full payment is required to reserve and book. No partial deposits will be accepted for reservations.
What are the maximum number occupants allowed in a cottage?
Four
Is there a maximum period for which cottage can be rented?
No limit. Please inquire about longer-term rentals.
Is there a Security Deposit required?
The guest agrees that their credit card will be charged within three days of check out for any damage to the property above and beyond normal use and/or missing properties. An inventory list is posted inside of each cottages proclaiming the items the client is responsible for during their stay.
What are the pet rules and extra costs for pets?
Guests must pick up all dog excrement from property as soon as it is noticed. We ask that animals be directed to the sand lot at the far east of the property for their "business", not in the common area please. Clients are expected to keep animals off of all furniture. Dogs left unattended must be crated (crates not included) inside the rented cottage. Barking dogs are not to be left alone at any time for courtesy of other guests and neighbors. If additional cleaning or damage repair is required due to pets, guest credit card will be charged accordingly.
So the cottages do longterm rentals or longterm vacation rentals?
The cottages are only rented out on a nightly basis. If you are looking to rent for week, please contact our agent to specify a discounted price for a week package. If you are looking for a month vacation, please contact our agent as well on a sprcial discounted price. All the same the cottages are on a nightly rate system with discounts for longer term stays.
Where can the guest find equipment like fishing, surfing gear etc?
We currently have two new beach cruiser bicycles that are included in the normal rental price. Other equipment such as surfing/fishing gear etc. is available locally for rent at many shops on Newport Ave. (3 blocks south of the cottages). Please inquire as we are now working with many local OB businesses to provide you everything you might need.

What's the real scoop on Ocean Beach?
Ocean Beach is one of the last "untouched" beach towns in San Diego. Although Ocean Beach does get some noise from the airplanes when the flight paths get adjusted for weather, it is a residentially focus beach town with original home owners and a great sense of community. Despite major growth and money being pumped into neighboring beachs, Ocean Beach is the home to the retro feel of an old school California beach experience with very few chain restaurants/businesses to be seen and many great original 70's diners and small family run businesses. It is our family's favorite place in San Diego and it represents the California Surfer lifestyle to the T.
Is food provided by the Ocean Beach Cottages?
No, food is not
included. There is a full size supermarket (Appletree) on Santa Monica
and Cable-about 3 blocks southeast. The kitchen is fully stocked with
utensils and dishware for cooking, preparing and eating. The
appliances provided are: large refridgerator, four burner stove/oven,
mircrowave, blender, coffe maker/grinder.
